Overview
The BMW M (Motorsport) was initially created to facilitate BMW's racing program in the 1960s and 1970s. For years, the M has seen grand success in racing venues across the world and has bloomed in the growing market for high performance sports cars.
The BMW M3 Coupe is the latest in the M Series cars to arrive in India. The car is based on BMW's popular 3 Series sedan and comes with a modified engine, suspension, interior trim, aerodynamics and exterior styling. It is designed purely to thrill people who are looking for a high-performance sports car. The coupe comes with a lightweight body and has a very powerful engine. It has been tried and tested on some of the toughest proving grounds in the world.
The BMW M3 Coupe competes with the Audi TT Coupe in India.
Powertrain & Performance
The M3 Coupe derives power from a 4.0-litre V8 engine that has a maximum output of 420 bhp@8400 rpm and a peak torque of 400 Nm@3900 rpm. A 6-speed manual gearbox ensures optimum transmission of engine power resulting in smooth acceleration on demand. It offers super-fast, super-precise gear shifts every time.
The coupe's lightweight body construction enables it to be very dynamic in movement and the perfect 50/50 weight distribution of the car at the front and rear provides great stability. Its high performance braking system reacts quickly and effectively to the driver. The lightweight braking system is composed of high-performance compound disc brakes that provide excellent braking even under wet weather conditions.
The 'M Dynamic Mode' feature when engaged, allows the driver to push the car to the limits without having to worry about losing control. In this mode, the Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) system automatically steps in to bring the car under control if it seems to be slipping.
Build & Styling
The BMW M3 Coupe has an incredibly lightweight yet strong carbon roof and an unmatched 'M' chassis. The car rides on double-spoke 18-inch alloy wheels that provide an extremely sporty look. Even sportier multi-spoke 19-inch alloy wheels are available as an option. High speed tyres deliver amazing performance and stability on the toughest of roads. Body coloured bumpers with large air dams on the front bumper ensure that the powerful engine is cooled fast and efficiently. They also enhance the sporty appeal of the coupe.
The car gets bright xenon headlamps that come with automatic range control, four corona rings and a headlight washing system. The automatic range control system prevents dazzling of oncoming traffic by the headlights. A great feature that makes driving even safer are the Adaptive Headlights which are an optional feature on the coupe. In these headlights, sensors measure the car's speed and steering movement to automatically shift lighting focus in the direction of the road ahead. This feature is particularly useful around corners and sharp turns in the road.
The interior of the Coupe is highly driver-oriented. The design and layout of the dashboard and controls are suited for driver's convenience. Available interior trim options are: Titanium Shadow, Brushed Aluminum Shadow, Black Carbon-look leather and high-floss fine-wood Sycamore grain anthracite. The driver and front passenger M sport seats are electrically adjustable and the driver's seat comes with a memory function to store seat position settings. Standard upholstery is a fine combination of cloth and leather. A fully premium Novillo leather interior upholstery can be added at an extra cost.
The automatic air conditioning system on the M3 Coupe includes fogging and solar sensors that detect cabin conditions and heat or cool the cabin automatically. The M leather steering wheel comes with multifunction buttons for the driver's convenience. On-board entertainment equipment includes a Hi-Fi LOGIC7 5-channel professional audio system.
The airbags system includes driver and front passenger airbags, head airbags at the front and rear, and side airbags integrated into the seat for driver and the front passenger. The front passenger front airbag comes with a seat occupancy detector. All airbags are controlled by a perfectly calibrated safety electronics system which ensures that each airbag is inflated to the correct degree in case an accident occurs. Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) system and all wheel Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) provide additional safety. An alarm system with remote control is available for the BMW M3 Coupe.

The car enhances passenger safety with an advanced impact absorbing body structure, impact absorbing wiper pivots, a collapsible bonnet hinge, head restraints and adjustable headlamp beams.
Honda is renowned for making some of the world's most powerful, fuel-efficient and cleanest engines. This tradition continues in India with the Honda City ZX. The Hyper-16 valve, VTEC engine and programmed fuel injection translate into some of the lowest emissions in any car in the Indian auto market. The City ZX is built to tackle congested driving conditions in Indian cities and comes armed with a 4.9 metre turning radius, excellent suspension, power steering and high torque to ensure ride comfort in bumper-to-bumper traffic.

Overview
Take one look at the 8th generation Honda Accord and notice that it clearly stands out as royalty. Honda has re-worked on every aspect of the car from exterior styling to the interiors to the chassis and engine. The new Accord has no resemblance to its 7th generation predecessor.
The car is more agile and flexible along curves than ever before. The front fascia is now more muscular and cabin has been enhanced for more legroom. The new Accord also packs more safety features than before. It is the largest Accord ever made and almost reaches the Mercedes-Benz E-class in proportion. The wheelbase is longer by 3 inches and the width and height have been increased by nearly an inch.
The Honda Accord has always been a leader in the D+ car segment in India. The new 8th generation Accord is pitted against the likes of Skoda Superb, BMW 3 Series, Audi A4 and Mercedes C-Class.
Powertrain & Performance
The engine on all the three variants available variants (2.4, 2.4 Elegance and 2.4 Inspire) is the same - 178 bhp 2.4-litre i-VTEC Inline-4. A choice of either a 5-speed manual transmission or a 5-speed automatic is offered. Honda has dropped the 3.0-litre V6 engine that was available on the previous model of Accord. The new engine generates 30 bhp more power. The new E10 engine is capable of running on a combination of 10% ethanol and 90% petrol to give enhanced fuel economy. The fuel efficiency on the new Accord has increased by 8 percent.
The chassis of the car has been made 20 percent stiffer and this makes driving in a straight line very easy. Like the successful Honda Civic, the Accord too now comes with Formula One inspired paddle shifters. All variants get a tilt/telescopic steering wheel and the top end 2.4 Inspire variant comes with a premium 4-spoke leather steering wheel with an aluminium colour panel and a leather gear shift knob.
When it comes to driving, the car is very agile and responds quickly to inputs. The refined nature of the powerful engine makes the ride very enjoyable. The new Accord also accelerates much quicker than its predecessor and gear shifts are smooth and effortless.
Build & Styling
The Honda Accord has an aggressive front fascia. The 6-sided mesh grille with chrome slats gives a luxury feel. The body construction is rigid and strong. The fenders carry fog lamps on the front and rear. The car rides on large 16-inch alloy wheels.
On the interior, the dashboard has been revamped. The dual tone finish is very appealing. The plastic used is of good quality and the upholstery is smooth and gives a rich feel. On the whole, the cabin is very classy.
Cabin space is enhanced and occupants get more leg room, shoulder room and thigh support. The driver's seat gets 8-way power adjustment with lumbar support. Rear seats have independent air vents and air conditioning. The rear seats also get their own audio control knobs.
For entertainment, the car comes with a 6-disc CD changer and MP3 player, a USB connector and 6 speakers. The car also comes loaded with convenience features like power retractable door mirrors, headlight height adjuster, noise and vibration reduction carpet and foldable rear seats.
Some of the safety features on the car include dual front i-SRS airbags, side curtain airbags, anti-lock braking with brake assist and electronic brakeforce distribution technology, high mounted LED brake lights, G-force Control technology (G-Con), engine immobilizer, and security alarm. The top-end Accord Inspire variant adds parking assist system.

Overview
The Honda Civic is the eighth generation Civic and all-new in India, rolling out from the Honda Siel Cars plant located in Greater Noida. The Honda Civic has been voted as the 'Car of the year' for 2007. The Civic, after its launch in the US, comes with some tweaks to suit the Indian road. It is powered by 1.8L i-VTEC engine, comes with higher ground clearance and stiffer suspension. With top-of-the-line technology, sporty looks, choice of automotive and manual transmissions, the Civic is bound to please the Indian taste palates.
The Civic places itself in the entry-level D Segment and competes with Corolla and the Skoda Octavia. The Civic design is youthful and trendy in comparison with its competitors. The Civic comes in two main variants, the 1.8S and 1.8V. The 1.8S comes with a 5-speed manual transmission whereas the 1.8V comes with either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed automatic transmission.
The Honda Civic is the futuristic family car!
Powertrain & Performance
With its peppy engine and buttery smooth transmission, the Honda Civic comes with a high-tech and revolutionary 1.8L inline-4 engine that cranks out 130 bhp at 6,300 rpm and a peak torque of 172 Nm is achieved at 4,300 rpm. The incorporation of variable timing control for the single overhead cam enhances engine performance at high speed. The all-aluminium engine is ultra smooth and almost silent at low revs. Equipped with the 5-speed manual or an optional automatic (1.8V variant only), the Civic is swift. The power graph remains stable between 3,000 and 4,000 rpm, and that is when power is essential for a stop-and-go drive. It is a muscle engine and roars at high revs.
The all-independent suspension with McPherson Strut in front and coil over double wishbone with torsion bar in the rear is excellent during high speeds and highway drives, but not a very good mate for bad roads. The suspension system is tweaked for minimal body roll during tight cornering. The all disc brakes with brake assist give instant halt to the mighty car. The power-assisted, collapsible steering is precise and takes speed of the car into consideration for inputs. With all these smartly tuned features, the ride quality of the Civic takes driving to a new horizon.
Build & Styling
The Honda Civic is not a typical three box character; the A-pillar is shifted forward for better aerodynamics that makes it look like the next generation car. The easy flow design with the kick-up eyed headlights and floating chrome grille are some of the stand out features.
The circular roof rises gradually and falls on the boot gracefully; the Civic's short boot gives it a contemporary feel. A touch of elegance is visible at every corner. The low-slung car looks sporty and outgoing. The interiors are also no less competitive; the cockpit style dash is really impressive and practical. The glove box has a handle on the right that makes it convenient for the driver. The Z-shaped hand break, side door knob, steering wheel and the instrument console are all futuristic for better practicality.
The digital speedometer impresses the most, while the premium sound system keeps you entertained all the way. The design gives scope for sufficient headroom and shoulder room. Though the boot is not voluminously large, it is still sufficient. The futuristic design makes this sedan a comfortable one.

Overview
Ford made its presence in India in 1907, when it launched the Model A. After establishment here, it discontinued its operation in 1954 and again reestablished itself as Mahindra Ford India. From a 50:50 joint venture with Mahindra, Ford grew to be 92.18% stake holder and rechristened itself as Ford India Limited. It started manufacturing Ford Ikon from its Chennai facility in 1999.
The 2006 Ford Ikon was launched as Ikon Flair with added youthful, sporty features and a competitive price tag. This new edition of the Ikon Flair was designed to garner the attention of the young icons that are keen to begin their experience with four-wheelers with a world-class stylish sedan.
Ikon Flair is a hot cake, and driver's car in comparison to the Maruti Esteem, Baleno, Hyundai Accent and the rest. Priced moderately, it is worth the money paid and stands out in competition.
Powertrain & Performance
The Ikon uses the 1.3L ROCAM (Roller Finger Camshaft) engine that is a spirited performer, generating 69 bhp @ 5,500 rpm and 105 NM of torque @ 2,500 rpm, and is ideal mate for urban usage. Power is transferred to the front wheels and regulated by a 5-speed manual transmission. Gear shifting is simply superb and leaves no room for complaints. It uses the chain-drive Single Overhead Camshaft (SOHC) technology that keeps the system free from rattles.
The ride quality of the Ikon has not changed dramatically; it has independent McPherson Struts mounted on separate sub-frame and a heavy duty twist-beam with strut-type coil spring/damper units on the rear. This suspension setup is good at high speed but a little harsh on bumpy roads. Handling is no doubt Ford type and is quite impressive. The car is not completely planted to invite trouble on speed breakers unlike its competitors. Still it is firm on highways; beyond 4,000 rpm, the engine growls and is fun for those adventurous young drivers.
Build & Styling
The Ikon has a perfect three box profile, which has changed the sedan styling in India. It is youthful, appealing and a perfect aerodynamic profile. The build quality is strong and finish is perfect.
The Ikon is designed with great panache and appeals all. The interiors are inviting; the cabin is noiseless and there is enough legroom in both the rows. The seats are a bit firm and not as one expects in a modern car. The dash is neatly designed and the controls come in handy. To top it all, the steering wheel plus the gear shifter are placed so well that driving for a long journey is fun.
The Ikon gets sufficient boot space (400 litres) without compromising on the cabin space. The thick C-pillar, which is slightly pushed on the boot, makes it contemporary; this pattern is being imbibed by others. The side skirts give the Ikon a racy feel and alloy wheels add to it. Standard features on the Ikon include power windows on all doors, CFC-free air-conditioning, tachometer, boot light and fabric seats.
Some of the standard safety features include Ford Dynamic Safety Engineering, laminated windscreen, child-proof rear locks, front and rear side impact door beams, front and rear seat belts, centre high mount stop lamp, central locking and electric fuel cap release.

Pros
Just right for the Indian roads.
Sturdily built.
Good Fuel Economy.
Cons
Looks can be more modern.
Overview
The Mahindra Bolero is a combination of power, size and rugged looks, which makes it ideal for the Indian roads. It offers an array of trims in regular and soft top versions that include SLX, SLE, DI, Plus, and Diz. For 2007, the earlier models have been renamed and new standard equipment has also been included. A sturdy body and high ground clearance render the Bolero ideal for Indian roads.
All variants wear a sporty look with chic decals and prominent bumpers. Besides sharp exterior styling and ample interior amenities, the Bolero offers the added advantage of a mechanic or a service centre in most parts of the country.
Furthermore, the manufacturer states that the Bolero's body is primed with a "state-of-the-art" CED process that enhances rust resistance. It has a minimal operating cost and is available in 2-Wheel Drive (2WD) and 4-Wheel Drive (4WD) options. It is rigged out with a host of features and amenities that include an appealing injection moulded dash panel, attractive interior trims with matching seats, maneuverability and stability, an electronic shift transfer case and a wide array of attractive metallic colours to choose from.
Powertrain & Performance
The Bolero SLX is available with an option for Four Wheel Drive. The SLX gets a 2.5L (Turbo) diesel engine and is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. The 4WD is equipped with a XD3PU engine and serves up power worth 68 hp at 3,200 rpm with 137.5 Nm of torque @ 2,000-2,500 rpm. All the other models, the Bolero SLE, DI, DI and Diz, have a 2.5L engine that forks out 63 bhp of power at 3,200 rpm and 180 Nm of torque at 1,800-2,200 rpm.
All the models get a 5-speed manual as standard. Emission levels have been brought down in compliance with BS III norms. This facilitates reduced expenditure on maintenance as well.
All Bolero models possess an independent front suspension with coil spring suspensions in the front and leaf springs in the rear, except the DI, which gets rigid leaf springs in the front. It comes with a hugely responsive power steering, standard on the SLX and SLE. Shifting is smooth but some more power would have been better.
Build & Styling
The new models of Bolero look modern, with lot of exterior and interior improvements. The frontal look is more aggressive with a new commanding grille element, bigger headlamps and muscular front bumper. The new design has an imposing presence and a roughly hewn silhouette. On the exterior, its rugged structure is smoothed-out with a vast expanse of steel. Muscular bumpers and sporty decals add to its sturdy-sporty aura (which is a blessing, built as it is for off-road driving). A high ground clearance protects the undercarriage from any untoward damage.
The interior is roomy and spacious with ample seating for seven. Power steering eases driver's effort on bad and rural roads. The new cabin is well-appointed; it has colour coordinated interiors and attractive upholstery. The new Bolero has an extended wheelbase, allowing far more legroom and general overall comfort. The roof has been raised too. Aluminium side and rear footsteps make for easy entry and exit.
The Mahindra Bolero has variants that could cater to the needs of a large family with its roomy interiors and modular seating options.

Overview
When Tata Motors thought about improving the popular Sumo, it must have thought about a toy. This SUV is indeed a toy but for the big boys. The metamorphosis of the Sumo into the Sumo Grande is witnessed in virtually every section of the vehicle. And it should be as Tata has spent more than Rs. 300 Crore to make it look 'Grande'.
The design of the Sumo Grande is eye-catching and so are all the attractive colours it is available in. The vehicle gets the look of a sophisticated personal car. It is also a perfect car for weekend outings by large families.
On the outset, the car's headlamps have been made larger than the Sumo Victa and the grille has been enlarged. The wheel arches are more prominent and the bumpers look muscular. And to top it off, the spare wheel can be placed underneath the 3rd row seat and not on the rear door as was the custom till date.
The Sumo Grande fits into the urban environment very easily. The utility vehicle is available in three variants- LX, EX, and GX. The available seat configurations are 6+1 and 7+1. The car is truly value for money.
Powertrain & Performance
Under the lid it still looks like the Sumo Victa, but its more refined power shows the difference. The Sumo Grande's engine has been borrowed from the Tata Safari. It comes with the same 2.2 litre VTT DICOR engine that churns out a healthy 118 bhp at 4000 rpm and a torque of 25.5kgm at 3000rpm.
There is an option for torque with a wider RPMs band which can improve manouverablity in narrow city lanes and while cruising on highways. The engine is paired with a variable geometry turbocharger. The MUV comes with a 5-speed manual gearbox across all variants. For those who used Tata's vehicles will be surprised to find out that the gears move smoothly in harmony at the driver's will. The Sumo Grande feels adequately empowered.
Build & Styling
The Sumo Grande's styling is very contemporary. For once, designers at Tata Motors have worked very hard to get the vehicle's looks right. All the sharp edges of the Sumo have been tweaked into curves. The smooth flowing lines on the exterior give it an aura of sophistication. The front fascia still has the butch stance. The larger headlamps and a bulging bonnet paired with an oversized grille with the chrome Tata badge add an urban character to the vehicle. The front bumpers get a large air dam and two circular fog lamps placed on either corner. The oversized wheel arches house the 16-inch wheels. The square window glass and flat roof have been carried over from Sumo.
The Grande comes with three row seating and even the third row seating has enough space for adults. There is more legroom and thigh space and the back gets a comfortable support to enjoy long drives without pain. The third row can be folded to make space for additional cargo. The seats are in light beige, making the cabin appear roomy. The interiors have been refined and the plastic feels smooth and exudes quality finish. The car comes fitted with a modern HVAC (Heating, Ventilation and AC) system with dual zone air conditioners. Some convenience features are power windows, rear seat arm rests, electrically adjustable rear view mirrors and remote keyless entry. The lighting has been improved by the provision of puddle lamps on the front door, follow-me-home lights, and the interiors get theatre style lighting. The rear window comes with a fog/rain water wiper to improve rear visibility.
The Alpine music system with six speakers with a fake wood paneling comes standard on the top-end variant GX. The plastic moulded tilt power steering wheel, though lightweight, gives a strong grip. The GX gets leather wrapped steering.
Compared to the older Sumo, the Sumo Grande's extra height of 20 mm and longer wheelbase makes it more stable on highways. The leaf spring suspension in the rear enables a smooth ride. Independent double wishbone suspension and coil springs are placed to the front. This is useful for easy driving.
Safety features include central locking, side impact beams, door open warning, driver's seat belt unfastened warning, tiltable/collapsible steering column, tubeless tyres, child safety door locks, antiglare internal rearview mirror, high mount stop lamp, low fuel indicator warning, rear fog lamps, and motorized headlamp adjustment system.
The higher end EX and GX variants get central locking and an intelligent rotary lock mechanism that avoids locking of doors when the key is still in the ignition. Engine immobilizer and clear lens front fog lamps are exclusive to the GX variant. The seat fabric on all variants has been treated for resisting stains. The upholstery on the GX is fire resistant.

Overview
The Ford Endeavour was introduced in India in 2003. It is sold as the Ford Everest (a midsize SUV) in Asia and was built on the lines of the local Mazda-based Ford Ranger pickup truck platform. With this offering, Ford brought to the Indian consumer a premium, world class and versatile 7-seater. The new Ford Endeavour is available in two versions: the 2.5L XLT 4x2 and the 3.0L Thunder+ 4x4.
Besides its commanding road presence and imposing built, the Endeavour offers a genuine SUV experience and proclaims its SUV-truck roots with pride. It is a hugely functional SUV with serious off-road capability, especially in the all-wheel drive (AWD) version. For city driving, however, the 2-wheel drive variant would be a better choice.
This new Ford is equipped with a comprehensive list of safety features that meet the highest standards of excellence and are in keeping with the Indian regulations. It has been designed to withstand the impact of an accident with a rigid body shell, reinforced cabin and crumple zones in the front and rear. With these features and a potent engine, it competes with Hyundai Tucson and Honda CRV.
Powertrain & Performance
Endeavour comes in two variants - 4x2 XLT and the 4x4 Thunder+. The base is equipped with a 2.5L In-line 4 turbocharged diesel engine that generates a power of 141 bhp and renders 330 Nm worth of torque, whereas the Thunder+ is powered by a 3.5L TDCi In-line 4 diesel engine that churns out 154 bhp.
The XLT is available in a Two-wheel drive configuration (4x2) whereas the Thunder+ comes with All-wheel drive. 4x2 is perfect for city/highway driving, whereas the 4x4 is geared up for rugged and all-terrain driving. A 5-speed manual transmission comes standard on the model.
Despite its imposing size, the engine serves up power efficiently. It handles reasonably well, takes a corner like a veteran and delivers a satisfactory ride in the city. Transmission is smooth and seamless, with smooth upshifts and downshifts.
This SUV might not exhibit aerodynamic proficiency on the highway, but it handles rugged terrain like a pro and is in its element on dirt roads. The anti-lock braking system (ABS), with electronic brake-force distribution (EBD), makes for quick braking response.
The Endeavour's humungous tyres and rigid chassis soak up bumps. Handling is superb, while steering is precise and responsive.
Build & Styling
There is no denying the Ford legacy in the Endeavour's overall architecture. The front end is distinctive with its high bonnet and behemoth size. The rather aggressive fascia out-front is decked up with a large, bold and sporty looking grille as well as multi-reflector headlamps. Aiding and abetting the new Endeavour, in its hardy off-road worthiness, are the mud flaps and wheel moldings along with fashionable roof rails. Silver side-steps run along the length of the vehicle and accentuate its brute quality. The Thunder+ variant offers a classier exterior compared to the XLT. It has larger mirrors that incorporate turn indicators and puddle lamps, a spare wheel cover, body cladding and many more attractive features.
The variants offers wide tyres (265/70 R16) that facilitate the most favourable combination of traction and stability on slippery ground.
It is also fitted with a highly toughened and modern bull bar, two-tone body cladding that gives it an even sportier look, alloy wheels, a fifth door mirror that comes in handy while parking or reversing, and a hard top cover for the extra tyre that can be locked to prevent its theft. Decals on the body of the vehicle enhance its looks.
The interior of the Ford Endeavour is roomy and elegant with world-class levels of comfort. Both the variants are endowed with luxurious leather upholstery and AC vents for all the three rows to make long and bumpy drives cushy. It comes with well-appointed amenities harboring little details, that both surprise and delight. For entertainment on-the-go, the vehicle has been endowed with an iPOD-compatible audio system. The Thunder+ is enhanced by Camel tone full leather interiors, six CD changer and MP3 player with six speakers. The entertainment is also loaded with an interior roof-mounted DVD player and dual air conditioning with controls mounted on the ceiling.
A standard cutting-edge theft protection feature, passive anti-theft system (PATS), prevents the engine from being started with an incorrectly coded key by automatically shutting off fuel to the fuel injection system after two seconds. A high visibility "command" driving position makes for better visibility while driving. Also included in the new Ford Endeavour are amenities such as a 4-wheel ABS with EBD and dual airbags, child-proof rear door locks, fuel tank shields, seat belts for all seven occupants, front passenger airbags, and more.

Overview
GM launched Chevrolet Spark in India as a come-back vehicle to the long forgotten Matiz. GM is trying to grab a 10 percent share of the rapidly growing automobile market in India by 2010. Chevrolet Spark will be produced at GM's Halol factory near Baroda.
The automaker will also consider exporting the Spark, which is a version of the Daewoo Matiz, to Nepal, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka. India's small-car market makes up the lion's share of the country's market for passenger vehicles. The Spark has a more stylish and expensive look in comparison to its predecessor, so that it can compete in the small car segment in the country.
The Chevrolet Spark offers a host of features that combine with its handsome, sturdy, and solid good looks to give it an edge in the market. This Hatchback has a new and improved body design and all the space that you would want for your family.
The proposed compact car would compete in the same segment as that which is currently dominated by the Maruti Alto, Zen, Wagon R, Swift, Hyundai Santro, and Tata Indica.
Spark could very well be the next BIG story in the automobile industry as it tries to capture Indian hearts and Indian roads with its roguishly striking design and its easy-to-maneuver compact styling. Spark also brings with it the variety of color, so that your car remains different and one among the few. Available only in petrol versions, Spark allows you to choose from ten different colors: Galaxy White, Poly Silver, Teal Blue, White Gold, Ocean Blue, Peach Orange, Apple Green, Super Red, Jazz Blue, and Pearl Black.
Powertrain & Performance
The Chevrolet Spark comes in four variants: 1.0, 1.0 PS, 1.0 LS, and 1.0 LT all with 4 cylinders 1 litre (995 cc) petrol engines. All variants generate a power of 63 bhp at 5400 rpm and a torque of 90.3 Nm at 4200 rpm. This makes the Spark a definite improvement on the Matiz in with much more engine power and acceleration. All the engines have a 5-speed manual transmission.
The city-drivability of Spark is extremely comfortable due to its compact size, agility, and easy handling. It has a 4.6 wall-to-wall turning radius that may cause a problem during sharp turns, but its compact size will allow you to park in constrained spaces. The front McPherson struts suspension and the rear torsion beam axle suspension provide you with a smooth ride even on bumpy Indian roads. The Spark has a top speed of 155-157 kph and due to its heavy weight the car is steady even at high speeds. It can accelerate from 0-100 kph in 16 seconds.
It comes with a Siemens EMS to monitor emissions, which allows it to burn fuel more efficiently.
Build & Styling
The Spark measures 3495 mm in length, 1495 mm in width, and 1518 mm in height. It has a kerb weight of 850 Kg that ensures it steadiness during turns. It has a 2345 mm wheelbase. The headroom and legroom are spacious enough for four people to sit comfortably in.
The interior of the car is designed with the word "different" in mind. The instrument pod is placed in the center of the dashboard, above the console. This gives the entire interior of the car a new look. Through the steering wheel is placed a digital pod that comprises of all the warning signs. This innovative design is a true novelty of sorts even though it might be a tad impractical. The interior is designed as an attempt at having all the small luxuries that people usually only find in luxury cars. There are hooks to hang shopping bags, bottle and card holders, a sunglass case, and drawers under the front seats.
Spark has been designed to possess a rear suspension that along with a comfortable ride also gives you the option of a large boot space of 170 liters, which you can increase to 845 liters if you fold the rear seats. The boot provides a low loading platform and is protected by the boot lining from the upper part of the rear bumper.
In the event of a side impact, the car's central pillar protects the occupants making it safe for all passengers.
Spark's exterior has a very soft yet bold look. It has very smooth and prominent etches that define its hood in a blunt shaped V that makes the car look like it is smiling. The poached-egg-shaped headlights are prominently placed on either side of this hood. The front bumper and grill present a look of solidarity. The symbol of Chevrolet is centralized in the front of the hood.
Highlighted wheel arches and structured sides of the car divide it prominently, giving it a futuristic and streamlined appearance. The round rear lamp is distinctive and completes this car's overall attractive and purposeful looks.
Spark's top variant comes with power steering and remote adjustable rear view mirrors for the driver, and also electronically adjustable rear view mirrors for the co-driver. Some other features that you have the option to choose from are height-adjustable seats for driver, ABS brakes, airbags, child seat tether anchorage provisions, and alloy wheels.

Could use a more powerful engine.
Overview
The Ford Fusion has been the recipient of warm reviews and is a top contender in the 'midsize family car' segment. In fact, it is not the kind of car that blends into quiet obscurity but rather commands a second look with its aggressive stance and angular profile.
The interiors are luxurious, warm and inviting. It has an appealing, easy- to- decipher instrumental panel, plenty of storage options, plush seating and innumerable convenience features.
The Fusion now offers ten inventive stowage spaces. Its high ground clearance, a fine-tuned suspension, and excellent turning and cornering capabilities make the Fusion a nimble and fun car to drive. The Fusion is available in five attractive colours viz. Panther Black, Diamond White, Paprika Red, Moondust Silver and Platinum.
Powertrain & Performance
The Fusion is available in four variants: 1.6 Duratec Petrol, 1.4L TDCi Diesel, Plus 1.6 Duratec Petrol, and Plus 1.4L TDCi Diesel. The 1.6 Duratec variants are equipped with a 16-valve, 1.6L 100 bhp engine that dishes out 146 Nm of torque. This engine has been developed specifically for the Fusion and provides a combination of drive-ability and low emissions (which makes it extremely environment-friendly). The 1.4L TDCi variants are pulled by a 67 bhp turbocharged diesel engine with peak torque of 160 Nm.
The manufacturer claims that an aluminium block and head makes Fusion one of the smallest, and lightest car with the latest engine design from Ford. Steering assist absorbs rough driving and makes for an agile and precise steering response. It provides a smooth and responsive drive quality and optimises comfort to the driver while parking, driving or negotiating corners.
A long wheelbase and wide track make for great handling and ride as the four wheels turn a corner. Steering is precise and transmission is seamless. Courtesy its strong body structure, the Fusion offers a smooth ride and some remarkably impressive handling.
Build & Styling
The Ford Fusion is a juxtaposition of aggressive reserve and class. Attractive headlamps give it a funky appeal as they trace an alluring path into the hood and fender lines, while also enhancing visibility at the front corners. The three chrome bars add to its intrinsic appeal. The front bumper has two chrome strips that match the ones on the grille, giving it a svelte appeal. A wide track and vertical taillamps with chrome trim at the rear, and wide tyres with 15-inch alloys wheels give the Fusion a flamboyant silhouette.
The Fusion's design is a combination of upper-crust chic and utilitarian elements. Soft-touch materials figure on the dash and door; leather trims, leather-wrapped steering wheel and a storage bin in the dash are among some of the features that add to its refined aura. Overview
The Czech car manufacturer, Skoda Auto of the Volkswagen Group, develops and manufactures premium automobiles for the world market. The year 2001 witnessed the advent of Skoda Auto's Indian operations, beginning with a plant at Shendra on the Auranagabad border in Maharashtra (the company's single manufacturing unit outside of Europe).
Skoda has introduced its second generation Skoda Fabia in India as a 2008 model. The Skoda Fabia is a 5-door large hatchback which was introduced to the world at the March 2007 Geneva Auto Show. The first generation of Skoda Fabia has sold since 1999 and has been a very successful model with over 15 Lakh of them being sold in Europe and other countries.
Based on the PQ25, which is a large new platform, the Fabia has a chassis with a sophisticated front MacPherson strut suspension along with a strong lower A-arm and non-independent rear suspension. The Czech manufacturer has kept Indian concerns in mind before release of the new model by introducing a raised suspension and returned springs and dampers – all together called the 'rough road' package.
The Fabia's anti-lock braking system (ABS) ensures maximum control of the vehicle in emergency braking situations. Its Motor Speed Regulator (MSR) and dual brake assist system ensure utmost safety while driving. The model also features dual front air bags that provide cushioning and reduce the impact in case of collisions. Fabia resembles the Maruti Swift in looks, but it is longer than the Ford Fusion.
Powertrain & Performance
The Fabia in India comes in diesel and petrol variants that are borrowed from the Skoda roomster, which is another successful model from Skoda. The 1.4 PD TDI diesel variant comes with an Inline-3 engine that generates 68 bhp. The 1.4 MPI petrol variant has an Inline-4 engine. Both engines are coupled to a 5-speed manual transmission.
The diesel Fabia gives amazing fuel efficiency, which is close to 14.1 km/litre in the city and 18.5 km/litre on the highway. The Petrol variant is expected to deliver approximately 14.7 km/litre on the highway.
Build & Styling
The Skoda Fabia has an instant appeal with its cheeky cuteness. This large hatchback has a sharp design that makes it stand out in its class. The Fabia successfully gives a compact appearance with a tight-fitting roof, projector headlamps that are a blend of aesthetics and functionality, and a big chrome bar with a classy look. The exterior appeal is further complemented by alloy wheels with wide tyres for better road grip.
Stepping into the hatch will give an altogether new experience of comfort, innovative technology, and safety features. The interiors have an impressive dual tone design for a lavish feel. Fabia's multi-textured seat fabrics give a touch of class to the interiors. The interior of the hatch is packed with technology that includes a multi-function information display of the current time, outdoor temperature, instantaneous fuel consumption, average fuel consumption, distance traveled, time driven, and average speed range. Convenience features include a remote keyless entry for one-touch lock and unlock, electronically adjustable and heated outside rear view mirrors, and front and rear power windows.
To keep occupants entertained, Fabia adds a CD/MP3 player with large graphic display and auxiliary audio input to use portable audio players.

Overview
Maruti Suzuki has been reborn as a make with a portfolio of global models. Way back in 1994 when Maruti had introduced its first entry level sedan 'Esteem', it set a benchmark that continued to rule till late 2000. With the aging of Esteem, Maruti scrapped the model from 2008 and has now introduced the new Swift DZiRE sedan. Swift DZiRE is the sedan version of the famous Swift hatchback and resembles its sibling in most aspects.
While designing the new sedan, Maruti has made an effort to retain the original overall design theme of the Swift hatchback. But the rear of the car is a complete deviation from the Swift and resembles the recently launched Maruti SX4 Sedan.
The Swift DZiRE comes in six variants - LXi, VXi, and ZXi (Petrol) and LDi, VDi, and ZDi (Diesel). The trims are packed with upscale accessories, quality interior materials and safety features that are a first for the segment. The new car certainly looks to be a good replacement for the Esteem. By incorporating the design of the Swift hatchback, Maruti has saved heavily on design cost and has managed the project on a low budget.
Powertrain & Performance
The DZiRE provides a choice of the same two engines available on the hatchback version of Swift. The petrol engine is a 1298cc 16-valve In-line 4 that delivers 87 bhp@6000 rpm and a maximum torque of 113 Nm@4500 rpm. The diesel variants get a 1248cc turbocharged DDiS engine that generates 75 bhp@4000 rpm and a maximum torque of 190 Nm@2000 rpm.
The Swift DZiRE variants have lower kerb weight in their class with petrol variants ranging from 1010-1035 kg and Diesel variants ranging from 1090-1115 kg. The lower kerb weight advantage translates to good performance of the car. The gearbox is slick and the clutch is smooth. This makes driving the car a pleasure.
Overall, the DZiRE gives the driver good feel and performance that is similar to the Swift hatchback.
Build & Styling
The Swift DZiRE retains the cheeky appeal of its hatchback sibling with a more premium look. Though the front fascia looks almost the same as the hatchback, it has got a flashy chrome grille and slightly sharper design headlamps.
From the side, the sedan has a complete redesign compared to the hatch, especially from the second pillar. It has bigger doors and larger window glass areas that make occupants feel roomier.
The DZiRE's back is entirely different from the hatchback. The trunk lid is raised and has a lip that merges with the shoulder line of the car. A thick chrome garnish on top of the rear number plate attempts to offset the heaviness of the oversized trunk lid. The rear also flaunts new clear-lens combination lamps.
The car's interior has a luxurious look and feel with the use of good materials. The steering wheel is the same unit that is offered with the Swift and SX4. The instrument cluster has round dials with chrome surround and features a white backlight.
Compared to the hatchback, the most notable changes in the sedan are in the top-end variants that now come with standard steering mounted controls for the music system and the new music system has been well integrated into the dashboard to add a lot of charm. The DZiRE also has a comfortable seating position for the rear occupants compared to the Swift hatchback. The rear seat backrests are angled at 27 degrees.
The VXi, ZXi, VDi, and ZDi come with quality fittings like integrated audio system, tachometer, and convenience features such as audible headlights-on reminder, centre and front cabin lights, vanity mirror, rear seat center armrest, and front electric power windows. The top-end ZXi and ZDi variants are equipped with more upscale features like front airbags, ABS with EBD brake assist, rear window defogger, adjustable tilt steering, and automatic climate control.
